About mrs. venegas
Hello Coyotes!! My name is Alicia Venegas and I am a fourth grade teacher at Canyon Ridge Elementary School. This will be my 11th year teaching and this is my 10th year here at Canyon Ridge Elementary School. I taught 1st grade for seven years and this will be my fourth year as a 4th grade teacher. I absolutely love teaching 4th grade!
I received my Bachelor of Arts from Sul Ross State University in 2004 with my specialization in Reading. I have also obtained my Masters of Education in Advanced Reading Literacy through Concordia University in 2011. I am also a certified Reading Specialist and I have my ESL certification. I was born and raised in Del Rio, Texas. I come from a close-knit family of four girls. My mother is a retired teacher and my two older twin sisters are teachers as well. I have a younger sister who is also living in San Antonio. I moved to San Antonio in May of 2006. I really love it here! I have been married for nine years to my wonderful husband, Rey. Mr. Venegas is a Survey Technician for KFW Engineering and a part-time real-estate agent. I have a 23-year old step-daughter, Amanda. I also have a eight-year old son, Adrian who is in third grade and a six-year old daughter, Ava that is in kindergarten. They both attend Canyon Ridge. I also have a very, vibrant two-year old named Adan Rey. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to have family outings and travel. We are also a family that loves the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, and San Antonio Spurs! We enjoy attending sporting events. We also love to eat out! I love to get a break from the kitchen every now and then. I am really looking forward to another school year. It is going to be one exciting year! Go Coyotes!! |
